Road to Recovery

9 April 2008

New York (Chinatown Newswire) — Greek defender Andreas Tzortzis is enlisting the help of a shaman in his bid to overcome a long-term ankle injury, the player said in an exclusive interview with the Newswire.

“It’s been a very frustrating time for me since I got hurt but I am confident that traveling to northern India will indeed help me to finally make my comeback for the club,” Tzortzis said.

CSC goalkeeper Vikram “The Terror from Bombay” Kansara apparently urged Tzortzis to embark on this somewhat unconventional road towards recovery, according to sources within the club.

Tzortzis has not played for the CSC since limping out of a trial match last October with an ankle knock while chasing after a loose ball.

Despite a series of planned comeback dates, the Mediterranean powerhouse has so far managed only one outing for 1. FC Union Berlin where he is currently on loan.

Meanwhile, Coach Stochl is optimistic that Tzortzis will return to action soon.

“He keeps getting these little setbacks every time that he is ready to play, so it’s a disappointment but there is no doubt in my mind that we can sort it out and get him back,” Stochl said.
