Daschek Goes Surfing

New York (Chinatown Newswire) — Chinatown Soccer Club winger and current holder of the club’s prestigious Thunderstrike Award, Jakob Daschek, will present a new surf-themed short film entitled “Submerged” tomorrow night.

The Swede’s work is part of Cut/Break, an exhibition curated by fellow football aficionado Everard Findlay that examines surfing as a transformative cross-cultural platform.

The event will be hosted by the Soho Grand Hotel on West Broadway with all proceeds going to the Laventille Bus Project which will provide free, sustainable school transportation to children in an impoverished area of Trinidad.
