Downpour

New York (Chinatown Newswire) — The Chinatown Soccer Club’s run in the Bowery Invitational Cup came to an abrupt halt on Saturday after the club suffered a 2:0 defeat at the hands of Team Green.
Part of the match was played in what amounted to a torrential downpour and the conditions contributed to a tough afternoon for the CSC.
Most pundits agreed that the New York club should have gotten something out of the match but always faced an uphill battle after conceding a freak goal about midway through the first half.
“This result doesn’t sit well with us but I already had a talk with the lads and there is no doubt that we’ll be back stronger and more resilient next season,” Coach Stochl said.
