Swedes Conquer Los Angeles

New York (Chinatown Newswire) — Much like their ruthless Viking forbearers, current Fanatic tournament champions Syrup Kidz returned with the West Coast AdiCup trophy firmly in their hands after embarking on a successful raid to Los Angeles last weekend.
The tournament was organized by Adidas for a third straight year and, similar to the longstanding original event in New York, presented various creative types with an opportunity for some friendly competition on the soccer pitch.
Teams from Undefeated, KCRW and Anthem Magazine, among others, all had a shot at glory at the Santa Monica High School field but none of them managed to stop the Swedish freight train from adding another trophy to their already impressive collection.
“We are proud and happy to be the AdiCup Champions, but most of all we’re delighted that we had a damn good time representing New York,” said the enigmatic head of the Tribeca-based club, known only as Chairman O.
“Thanks to our friends at Adidas, especially Oliver and Monika for sending us to the left coast, our home town rivals at the CSC and Bowery FC for keeping us on our toes, and Bowery FC for keeping us on our toes, and Blatte United for being an endless resource of raw talent,” he said.
Syrup Kidz reportedly dedicated their victory to Blatte United star Alex better known as El Maestro Junior, wishing him a speedy recovery from his recent injury.
