SIMPLIFY… AND CUT TO THE CHASE.

We favor a pared-down design sensibility. It is for this reason perhaps, that we found ourselves first drawn to the track bike.
I was going through some old sketchbooks and I found a page that reminded me of such a design.

I still carry the same knife, a little worse for wear after almost 10 years of travel and service.

Crafted of beechwood and carbon steel, the OPINEL knife must rank among those designs truly transcendent of time (it was created in the 1890’s, and has changed little since then). It’s an archetypal Objet Français. Lacking the pomp and pretense of its ‘more’ heeled cousin, the bourgeois and baroque LAGUIOLE, the Opinel is the democratic, everyman’s choice; evocative of simple picnic lunches of fresh-from-the-oven Batard and Pélardon cheese in the countryside outside Amboise.
