YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE WITH THE HELP OF YOUR FRIENDS.

17 September 2008

In about 1 1/2 weeks, Jonathan and I will be embarking on a little jaunt from Berlin, Germany southward to Lago Di Como, Italy. The 1000 MILE ROUTE will pass through Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland; over the Alps and into Italy, in order to catch the last race of the season, ‘THE RIDE OF THE FALLING LEAVES‘, Il Giro Di Lombardia, on 18 October. Side trips will include the classic climbs, Il Stelvio and Il Passo Gavia; and of course, a visit to LA MADONNA GHISALLO. Our schedule calls for 10 days in the saddle with roughly 100 miles a day, and 2 days of rest thrown somewhere in between…

Getting there…

My bike and I will be arriving on the continent through the generous 50,000 Skymile grant from THE WILLMERICA CORPORATION; and Jonathan’s NAGGING CURIOSITY will finally be laid to rest by our friend, Slate Olson at RAPHA. Our four wheels have always been kept greased and turning through Tim and WRENCHSCIENCE, and on this trip they will be made especially so!

Thank you all for the support and for keeping the faith! You, among so many others are responsible for making this a reality.

We look forward to updating you from the road once we get underway!

P.S.
Here’s some food for thought: are you still trying to finish War and Peace and catch up on that SUMMER READING LIST?
