Sutherland Hits Los Angeles

New York (Chinatown Newswire) — Chinatown Soccer Club stalwart Peter “The Beard” Sutherland will present a new collection of his artwork at Hope Gallery in Los Angeles with a barbecue to celebrate the exhibition’s opening on Sunday afternoon.

Entitled “Hot Coals Only” the show “is in the tradition of classic road trip photography like Walker Evans or Robert Frank, but for Sutherland the wandering is also internal. He grants his idiosyncratic preoccupations full reign. This forms the distinctive Sutherland world, the obsessively recurring ramshackle jeeps, tents, dogs, and beards,” according to the catalog published by Seems Books.
