If you assume Liam Gallagher, lead singer of britpop legends Oasis, does not give a toss whether you like the clothes he has ‘designed’, you are right! Worst case scenario – he gets a new wardrobe. It is the overused cliche in music – I made this album for me, and if other people like it that is a bonus. Same with clothes for Liam, apparently. And so we sink, from frame one, into a Spinal Tap-esque abyss of self absorption.
The clothing label is named Pretty Green after a song by the Jam, because Liam likes the Jam.
All this video needs is an opening title card that says “An SNL Digital Short” and you can convince me that is actually Andy Samberg not Liam Gallagher. Even the edits are cut on what become accidental punch lines. This is certainly one of the most unintentional comic/amazing/depressing promo videos I have ever seen.
I don’t know what is better, the sideburns, the off-the-cuff dialogue about making clothes (those are Clarks, Liam!) or the staged staff meetings with a room full of (hopefully) well paid creatives laughing at Liam’s clumsy attempts at humor. I can work in that office too, because i think the man is downright hilarious.
Some might say…..
