Parra at Project Space
11 March 2010
As a means of bringing our collective creative pursuits into an experiential environment, Arkitip and Incase have partnered to open Project Space, a unique setting for exhibitions, performances and installations.
Along with original artwork, Project Space will support a limited range of curated products that will rotate based on availability. This will include all special project endeavors from each brand. Project Space stays true to Arkitip’s founding principles: supporting the arts, promoting freedom of expression and making art affordable and accessible.
We are proud to announce our first exhibition at Project Space with Parra.
32-year-old Dutch illustrator and designer Parra has decorated the Amsterdam underground with his playful, bizarre graphics that span a broad base of themes, from introspective to audacious and bawdy. The mostly self-taught artist seems to channel a vintage form with curves, yet with a decidedly modern, post-pop approach. His vibrant and often humorous images feature a distinctive, hand-drawn feel, and can be seen printed on various exhibitions around the globe—club flyers, record sleeves and billboards—as well as silk screened on tees and sweaters.
Parra’s characteristic style has also extended into his music career with electro-rock group Le Le. Their most popular track “Breakfast” features Parra’s typography and imagery set in motion to the song’s pulsating beats and comical (and slightly naughty) lyrics.

After the thirteen hour nonstop flight from Los Angeles to London I stopped at the Yotel, a Japanese capsule style hotel designed after the British Airways first class sleeper cabins. Another sucessful idea from Simon Woodroffe. Available for now only at Heathrow, Gatwick, and Schiphol…but I’m sure there will be plenty more popping up soon. Exactly what I needed.
Comeback Train
9 March 2010
New York (Chinatown Newswire) — The Chinatown Soccer Club benefited from the successive comebacks of several veteran players over the past few days, the Newswire has learned.
“I’m delighted to have all these guys [see below] available again and they should help keep us going during the busy spring season,” Coach Stochl said.
Meanwhile, midfielder Dan Morales signed a rolling one-year contract extension in keeping with the club’s policies for players over the age of 40.
CSC legend and West Coast transplant Charlie Becker joined the club for two training sessions while visiting from Los Angeles.
Defender Jason “Goods” Goodman returned to full training after finally shaking a nagging toe injury while eccentric Ecuadorian midfield magician Papi Lopez visibly stepped up his game following a short trip to Mexico.
Hard-nosed center backs Peter “The Beard” Sutherland and Marco “The Berlin Wall” Spier made it back to the Stanton Street ground after business engagements in Uganda and Berlin, respectively.
The return of goalie Todd Lawton strengthened Coach Stochl’s options between the posts.
Morales sported a customized jersey to celebrate his big birthday.
Save McLaren Park
9 March 2010
Turn this dump into bike jumps!

Back in the 1970s, San Francisco’s McLaren Park was the raddest place to BMX in NorCal.
Today, sections of the park are a decaying asphalt wasteland, used only for dumping garbage and broken furniture. A new petition proposes to take out the trash, remove the asphalt, and bring back the dirt bikes.
The park restoration would feature beginner to advanced level bike features such as flowing trails, berms, progressive table top jumps, dirt jumps, wooden ladders, wall rides, a pump track, picnic areas and much more radness!
If it’s completed, McLaren Bike Park will be the only designated bicycle skills area in San Francisco. Show your support!

Skitsch by Apartamento
9 March 2010
Spent the last two months working tightly with the amazing Andy Rementer on a special editorial project for Milanese brand SKITSCH. A small publication which will be released on March 25 in London, during their new UK store opening, and Apartamento European readers will find inside their copy from late April. Just got this pic from our AD Omar Sosa at the printer and it’s looking really good!

Iverson…..
6 March 2010

This says it all…..AI was at his best when he was paired with the ball…..
You couldnt take anything away from him during those 48 minutes…..he was one of the best and hands down my favorite…..he was the essence of the city of brotherly love and every kid out there who lived the struggle…..
As he deals with personal family issues he has decided to step away from the one thing that gave him peace…..
I wish him peace in whatever he does after basketball…..and the best for him and his family…..
Thanks Gary Land for hooking me up with the photo…..
