I just returned from Art Basel Miami, where the only way to survive is becoming a truffle pig. Don’t look for inspiration in a place, where jetlaged gallerists design their booths in an amazon way, “if you liked Rob Pruitt, you might also like…”. Be an organized diligent truffle pig and walk the fair in a strict grid! You might strengthen yourself with a $ 20 plastic glass of Ruinart, but then go on!

My 2nd Halloween in NYC! We went to the opening of Carsten Höller’s Experience at the New Museum, that doubled as Halloween Party. The show featured different signatiure works (like the Mirror Carousel from 2005 or the Giant Psycho Tank from 2000). There were strobe lights and neon animals, psychotropic drugs, lie-in-fish tanks and a claustrophobic slide, there were buttons to press and scents to sniff and carousels to ride on. A bit like the Deutsches Museum for science of my childhood, a bit amusement park, a bit zoo… but always too irritating, too confusing or simply to weird to be just a playground.

As I have learned, that I don’t have to be dressed spooky, I went as Alice in Wonderland. Next to Giant Triple Mushrooms (2010).
