The Mille Miglia was an open-road (public) endurance race which took place in Italy twenty-four times from 1927 to 1957.

Richard Williams

23 December 2009

The song, the coolness of the character and how it all works together.

Animation and titles genius Richard Williams was one of the few animators out there who stuck with 24 frames instead of 12 per second.

Being that Mike Mills had an exhibition this year at Pool Gallery and that he was featured in a issue edition of Arkitip, it only made sense to take a visit to the set of him new film while Sascha was in town.

Panel discussion: Pop Art and Ethics

13 December 2009

Sascha (Pool Gallery) and I went to the Pop Art and Ethics discussion the other evening at Honor Fraser Gallery.

The panel examined what makes pop continually vital, perhaps continually hated, and perhaps a state of art practice that will always exist.

hf_talk

The panel included Irving Blum, David LaChapelle and Holly Myers.

It was really fantastic to hear Irvings stories of the early days of pop art in New York and David was very candid about his start in the commercial world and how he feels about the art market today.

The Making of Fantastic Mr. Fox

A excellent, slightly obsessive account of all the details that went into making this film come to life.
