BERLIN I
28 September 2009
Last week we took a quick trip to Berlin and I finally got an opportunity to visit the amazing Edsor Kronen tie company in Kreuzberg. Edsor makes two collections a year with about 1500 designs, all made in house by Günther H. Stelly.
Herr Stelly is the previous CEO or Geschäftsführung of the company but has recently passed on the title to his son Jan-Henrik who was kind enough to give us a tour.
This year marks Edsor’s 100th anniversary and you really feel the historic atmosphere when you walk around the factory. This place is truly a place of another time.

Everything is made from 100% pure silk in Como, Italy.

Thanks a lot for opening your doors to us.

Spent the weekend in the Swedish woods.

Most houses in the area are painted in this characteristic deep red colour called Falu rödfärg.

Just discovered this blog by Mikael Colville-Andersen focusing on Copenhagen bike culture.
Each and every day 500,000 people ride their bicycle to work or school in Copenhagen. This blog highlights who they are, why they do and how it was made possible.
Forty years ago Copenhagen was just as car-clogged as anywhere else but now 55% of the population choose the bicycle.
37% in the Greater Metropolitan area.
I have always considered Copenhagen to be a bike-friendly city, but according to Copenhagenize it is THE most bike friendly city.

I had the crazyest déjá vu yesterday following my daughter to her 1st schoolday. Everything looked and smelled the same as 20 years ago.
